There are moments in TFT when you spend gold to level or roll because you want your board to become stronger now.
At those moments, remember:
If you're spending gold to spike, look at your items too.
If you roll into upgrades or level for a stronger unit while your usable components sit on the bench, you are only converting part of your resources into combat power.
If you are still saving gold and are not trying to spike yet, you can afford to greed components for a better item.
When you are saving, you can wait on items. When you are spending to get stronger, consider slamming items as part of the same spike.
Rolling into 2-stars can make your board much stronger.
But if you decided “I need to be strong now” with your gold while still saying “maybe I can make something better later” with your components, your decisions are pulling in opposite directions.
Review your items when you make a power spike.
That does not mean you must slam everything.
If leveling or rolling alone already makes you clearly strong enough to win, you do not need to spend more resources.
Once you decide to win now, spend until you can win. Once you can win, stop.
The question is not “Do I have two components?”
